It's a Boy!!!

Yes, most of you know that Michelle and I recently had a baby boy. His name is Lee Kyung Jules Kim. I know, some of you were thinking and maybe still think that his name was going to be Taesoo Junior, but that didn't happen.
He was born at 6:10 am on the 8th of October. He was little earlier than his expected date which was the 10th (Monday). I'm so happy and relieved that both the mother and the baby are doing just fine. Yes it was stressful and emotional and wonderful and all that at the same time. I'm really really happy to be a father. I just need to be more focused and be motivated and need to move my ass. Changing diapers and waking up middle of the night is crazy, but man, it's so worth it.

Halloween Candy

It was cool to find this Halloween candy package at Longs Drugs. I did this as a freelance in July 2004 (right before I took off to SD for Comicon). I did the sketch, layout of the characters, and cleaned it out with illustrator. Also had to come up with what kind of costumes the characters wear. The photoshop work is awesome, and I cannot get the credit, because some other artist did the job. He really did a nice work. I never drew WB classic characters for professional work, so I was somewhat nervous. There are really great artists out there who can do awesome drawings of Bugs with their eyes closed. I'm happy that the product turned out good. It's good for what it is.

Chicken Little Wrap Party.

My friend John Yoon was kind enough to invited me to go to Chicken Little wrap party last Saturday. It was a great party. Food, drinks, music, film, and even tables for gambling. My opinion on the film is that it's good. It's no Pixar film. But it's good. If you never heard of Chicken Little, it's a up coming Disney's CG film. And it is their very first (I'm not counting Dinosaurs, sorry) attempt at it, without Pixar that is.
Recently turned Ex-Disney CEO, Michael Eisner was there and gave a speech about how at Disney, it's all about animation. And that from animation, all other stuff like parks, products, etc comes from. And he even mentioned that story is very important in animation. And I was sitting there thinking "Then why aren't you the Disney CEO anymore, and what was all that artist layoffs few years ago, and why did you get rid of traditional animation studio, and why were you so focused on theme parks, cruise lines and other businesses more than the studio, and most of all, why all those sequels with bullshit stories?" I thought it was total oxymoron for him to be there talking like that, specially to the artists. Well, as a courteous, I gave him half-assed claps with rest of the audiences. Sorry!
I hope the new CEO, Iger, does a good job and that Disney to make better films like they used to.

A penguin from some time ago...

Sumi ink and brush and just random shape.

Busy Day!

Before anything, today is Michelle and my 1st wedding anniversary. Can't believe it has been a year already. We are doing fine and dandy. With our baby boy on the way (Oct. 10th), it really has been a busy year. Things to prepare and mentally stable and all that goodness. I'm not nervous at all. Maybe I'm not getting it. Watch me panic later. Besides running around trying to fine something for Michelle, today was one hack of a day. I had to get my windshield repaired (caused by God knows what at 55 freeway), pick up my G5 from the Apple Store (had to fix, crashed so damn often and thank God for AppleCare), and stop by banks (both B of A and Washington). So it might sound like I'm giving another excuse not to post any drawings, but I'm really tired. Just wait for me. Thanks!
